Chinese Man

Chinese Man is a French independent Hip Hop collective comprising of three friends; High Ku, Sly, and Zé Mateo. Based in Marseille the group produce hip hop inspired beats fused with funk, dub, reggae, jazz, and world music and became particularly well known for the piece “I’ve Got That Tune,” which was chosen by Mercedes for their ad campaign as well as being the theme song for the French film festival in Hong Kong.

Formed in 2004, Chinese Man made their recording debut in 2005 with The Pandi Groove EP, which they released on their own label Chinese Man Records. A couple more EPs followed, The Bunni Groove EP (2006) and The Indi Groove EP (2007), before the release of The Groove Sessions (2007), a full-length album compiling the group’s recording output to date. The follow-up album The Groove Sessions, Vol. 2 (2009) was released a couple years later and was promoted with a live performance tour of France.
They then released Racing With The Sun in 2011, and Remix With The Sun in 2012 before dropping their renowned CD/DVD ‘Live at La Cigale’ in 2013 to crown a 150 date tour.

January 2014 saw them visit the UK and perform to sold out venues at Brixton Electric in London, Motion in Bristol and the Concorde 2 in Brighton.
