Championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Jazz FM and Jazz re:freshed, Garcia has had an electric start to 2018. She will soon head to SXSW to perform at Jazz re:freshed and British Underground’s OUTERNATIONAL showcase on 14 March at Main II in Austin TX, joining a world-class line up of the emerging UK jazz artists including Ezra Collective, Blue Lab Beats and Zara McFarlane. As well as recently playing the Other Futures Festival in Amsterdam, and New York’s Winter Jazz Fest in partnership with the PRS Foundation and BBC Introducing. This year she’ll also be heading to Outlook, Field Day, Love Supreme and many other stages worldwide. She closed 2017 with sell out shows in Brazil, following lauded appearances at the Singapore Jazz Festival, Afropunk, Worldwide Festival and sell out shows across the UK, including Ronnie Scott’s.

Alongside her solo releases, Garcia can be found playing as part of the award-winning septet Nérija, Joe Armon-Jones’ Idiom, the Theon Cross Trio and Maisha. She also plays with the likes of Horace Andy, Congo Natty and the Outlook Orchestra. Raised in London by artistic Caribbean parents, Garcia is a graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She began playing with the local Camden Music Service, before moving to the Royal Academy Junior Jazz course, and Tomorrow’s Warriors.
