Diplomats of Sound’s agency members Nubya Garcia, Ashley Henry and Zara McFarlane have returned from Austin as conquering heroes paving a way for the UK Jazz Scene.

Playing for the Jazz ReFreshed Outernational showcase, the trio spent the night spellbinding and entrancing the Austin crowd. Whether it was Zara McFarlane’s soulful mixture of Jazz, Reggae and social commentary. Ashley Henry’s incredible technique delivering subtle choral melodies with flamboyant but tasteful solos. Or Nubya Garcia “exploring her golden tone, lifting melodies like a child shifting a rock to see what treasures might be hidden underneath” – Austin Chronicle.

SXSW was left with no doubt that the UK Jazz scene is certainly on the rise. All three have released new music in recent times. Including Nubya Garcia’s When We Are EP out on March 8th. Sony signee Ashley Henry’s hip hop influenced ‘World Is Yours’ and Zara McFarlane’s Brownswood release ‘Rise’.
